Transfer Ferret Cards

ferret transfer card step 1

Transfer Ferret Cards Step 1

For this card, take your photo or artwork and print it on a sheet of transfer paper. Any writing or anything that needs to be pointing a certain direction must be done in reverse, or reversed with the printer before printing, because the transfer will be turned over and ironed onto paper or fabric and end up facing the opposite direction. When the transfer is done, cut around the art to be transferred. (Click image to enlarge.)

Now, carefully iron. The iron should be hot but watch the paper you are ironing the transfer onto for scorching. Carefully pull back the transfer while still very hot. If transfer sticks, stop pulling, put the transfer down and iron some more. (Click image to enlarge.)

Glue the transfer to a folded card. If the card curls, place heavy weights on top of it until it dries to keep it flat. (Click image to enlarge.)

This next transfer is ironed onto white cotton fabric. This allows for brighter colors that do not mix with the background color like the paper did. (Click image to enlarge.)

Remember to have wording reversed before you print to the transfer paper. Cut out the design and glue it onto your prepared and folded card. (Click image to enlarge.)
