Sew A Ferret-Shaped Hidey-Hole
Follow these step-by-step instructions to sew a ferret-shaped hidey hole for your ferret.

Sewing The Ferret Placing the fur body down on the sewing table, with wrong side up, put the foam on top and center. Then place the fleece on top of the foam and pin the fleece and fur together with the foam in the middle. (Click image to enlarge.) |

Sewing The Ferret Stitch from the neck around body to neck on other side. Put the right sides of fur together and stitch from top of head all the way around body to the chest area leaving enough space to sew in the lighter chest fur. (Click image to enlarge.) |

Sewing The Ferret Sew the foam for the bottom between the two bottom pieces of fur (with right sides of fur on the outside). Attach to the ferret body. The entire ferret can be turned inside out with right side now on the outside. Hand stitch the legs and tail on. Hand stitch the two pieces of fleece at the neck on the inside of the ferret. This keeps the ferrets from pulling out the scraps or getting to the foam. (Click image to enlarge.) |

Sewing The Ferret You can cut an extra piece of fleece in an oval shape for the bottom of the ferret for easier washing and a softer bed for the ferrets (this is optional). Now just add ferrets. You have now created a ferret-shaped hidey-hole. (Click image to enlarge.) |
