Ferret Pet Potential

What is the personality of ferrets?

Q: My daughter wants a ferret, but she would like to know how is his/her behavior around people. Are ferrets friendly? Do they like to stay with you? Etc.

A: A lot of what you ask depends on the individual ferret personality and age. Young ferrets tend to be more playful and independent while older ferrets are more snuggly. If you adopt a ferret from a ferret shelter, the shelter operator usually has an idea of the personality of each ferret and its level of playfulness, friendliness and independence.

I have two cuties. The younger one is named Moomler, she 's a dark eyed white and she's three years old. My other, sable ferret is 7 years old, her name is Rikki Tikki Tavi. Rikki TT is sooo... sweet. I would trust her around anyone, she would not bite. Moomler, the young one, on the other hand WILL bite, usually it's playful, but sometimes she defending her turf. Their personalities are as different as night is from day.
