A Cage Floor That Ferrets Won’t Chew

What’s a good material to use as flooring in a ferret cage?

Q: I put blankets down over the floor bars of my ferrets’ cage, but I want to put something sturdier down first, because they rip the baby blankets around and are walking on the bars anyhow. I was thinking linoleum, Astroturf or something along those lines, but I don’t want them to chew it. I don’t think they will, but do you?

A: I would probably head to linoleum over Astroturf, because I can imagine ferrets eating little tufts of fake grass. You could also look in the bathroom section of a home improvement store to see if some of the waterproof wall paneling could work for you.
