How do ferrets express fright or anger?

Q: Do ferrets do any sort of threat display when they're angry or frightened?
 
A: Most ferrets fluff out their tail (bottle brush), chirp, scream and run around. They do this mostly when they are startled or excited, and it can be hard to tell the difference unless you know what just happened to cause the fuss.
