Which part of a ferret’s mask makes the mask?

Q: A friend and I are discussing a ferret’s mask. Is the black that is just like a pair of glasses the mask, or is the white hair around the "pair of glasses" what makes the mask on a ferret?

A: Think of the ferret mask much like that of a superhero. The dark color around the eyes (hiding their identity) is the mask.
