Q: How do you find out the age of a ferret? I purchased Athena, a female albino, last October and last night my husband surprised me with Baby. Baby is really small, yet I don't know the age of either. Is there a way I can find out?
A: Many factors can influence how a ferret looks. Females are smaller than males for instance. Sometimes tooth condition can tell you if a ferret is young and/or had excellent tooth care or if they are older due to poor tooth condition.
Otherwise, use your best guess and your veterinarian’s opinion to determine a ferret’s age.
