Q: Just how much do you feed a ferret? I have three.
A: Generally speaking, ferrets don't overeat like other pets do. I free-feed my ferrets (have food in their dish all of the time), but they get a lot of exercise. We have never had a problem with them being overweight.
Most bags of ferret food have a recommended amount to feed per day, so utilize the manufacturer’s feeding suggestions initially. If you notice a ferret is gaining too much weight, reduce the amount of food and increase the amount of exercise.
