Q: I’ve heard that ferrets are like cats. Will a ferret scratch like a cat?
A: Ferrets are like cats in a lot of ways, but they do not scratch like a cat. Cats scratch on things to sharpen their claws and scent mark.
Ferrets are diggers, though, and will often try to dig under things like food dishes and can tear up carpet.
