Ferrets And Harness Safety

Can a ferret wear a harness all the time?

Q: Is it safe to leave a harness on my ferret at all times?

A: No. It is never advisable to leave a harness or a collar on a ferret unless there is someone there to supervise or you are planning on taking the ferret outside. Harnesses and collars can easily get caught on things in a home or a cage.

A ferret can also chew through a harness if left unsupervised, which can either destroy the harness or cause the ferret to experience a gastrointestinal blockage from ingesting pieces.
