Rabbit Breed

Rabbits are known for their hopping, ears and soft fur. A lesser-known fact is that their skin is very delicate and tears easily. Although cute, rabbits generally aren't cuddly. They can be litter trained, however, and perform rabbit agility. Today's pet rabbits were first domesticated in the Middle Ages from wild European rabbits of the species Oryctolagus cuniculus. More than 40 breeds are recognized by the American Rabbit Breeders Association, which range from rabbits that weigh only a couple of pounds to those that weigh 12 pounds or more.
