In 2008, The International Ferret Congress is expanding ferret knowledge with three events – The 2008 Florida Ferret Forum, The 2008 International Ferret Symposium in Pittsburgh and, under its Australian branch, the 2008 Ferret Symposium in Australia.
The International Ferret Congress Australia presents its first-ever symposium, The Ferret Health Symposium, on May 3 and 4. It takes place in Melbourne and speakers for the event include Dr. David Neck, Dr. Tom Lonsdale, Dr. Jerry Murray, Dr. Linda Donning and Bob Church. The topics include ferret gastrointestinal blockages, adrenal disease in ferrets, ferret enrichment and more.
The International Ferret Congress hosts a one-day forum in Kissimmee, Fla., on May 10. Speakers include Dr. Deborah Cottrell, Dr. Mitsie Vargas, Dr. Brenda Ernest, Vikki Caldwell and Shelley Trulock. A variety of topics will be covered, including heartworm in ferrets, ferret emergencies and disaster preparedness for ferrets.
The International Ferret Congress holds its Pittsburgh Ferret Symposium on November 7 to 9 in Pennsylvania. Speakers for the Pittsburgh symposium include Dr. Joerg Mayer, Dr. William Tyrell, Dr. Robert Wagner, Dr. Ruth Heller, Ailigh Vanderbush and Jeanne Carley. Topics range from ferret cardiology to canine distemper in ferrets to kit socialization and much more.
Additionally, the first-ever IFC ferret home video contest will debut at the Pittsburgh Ferret Symposium.
The theme of the home video contest is “Funniest Ferret Videos of the FML.”
