Time is running out to vote for your favorite veterinarian in the America’s Favorite Veterinarian contest.
The America’s Favorite Veterinarian contest is in its final stage — voting! People can now vote once a day for one of the 20 finalists chosen by the American Veterinary Medical Foundation from nominations that came in from the public for a month beginning in May. But get clicking now, because the deadline for votes is before midnight Eastern time on September 1.
The profiles of these veterinarians make worthwhile reading, lifting your spirits with stories of veterinarians who make house calls, car pool pets for senior owners, establish a bond with a pet whom other veterinarians gave up on and so many other heartwarming facts. Some common themes emerged of veterinarians who have loved animals since childhood and want to help them and their owners.
Members of the ferret community are rallying behind Dr. Robert Wagner of Pennsylvania because of all he has done to advance knowledge about ferret health. As noted by his nominator, Sharon, "This amazing man has done so much for companion ferrets by donating his time and energy for shelter ferrets, by spending long hours in the lab doing health research to make life better for companion ferrets and by writing papers to aid his peers in understanding the health issues of companion ferrets…”

Last year was the first year of this contest, and Dr. Carlos Campos of Florida was named the winner and reigned for a year. Who will win this year’s America’s Favorite Veterinarian contest? It’s up to your votes!
