Are you or your ferrets ready to attend the Ferret Fun Fest?
Ferret fans and owners near Ohio’s Delaware County Fairgrounds have a unique opportunity this weekend. On May 10, 2014, a Ferret Fun Fest takes place in the Arts & Crafts Building from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Organizers tout the event with the catchy phrase "Not Your Average Ferret Show.” It showcases the small, furry pets that have captured the hearts of so many.
The Heart of Ohio Ferret Association and Rescue (HOFA) is presenting the Fest, which includes both judged and skill events. Skill events are activities for ferrets that feature tube racing and Bobbing For Booty. Judged events are more numerous and include color classes, special classes, vanity awards, best mask, Miss Petite, Mister Grande, Belle of the Ball and Prince Charming. With names like these, how could the events not be fun?
The Ferret Fun Fest also includes vendors selling interesting products, and, yes, there will be food to purchase. The Fest gives you a chance to meet other ferret owners, brag about your ferret, and hear about the ferrets and ferret adventures of others.

If you’re wondering what the Ferret Fun Fest is like, visit its Facebook page to see photos and video from past Fests. You need not bring a ferret to attend, as ferret skills and judging events can be a spectator sport.
Show organizers request that no sick ferrets be brought to the venue. All ferrets entered in the show should be vaccinated for canine distemper between the dates of January 1, 2013, and May 9, 2014. For other entrance requirements and information, check out the show registration packet here.
You might have noticed that the Ferret Fun Fest takes place the day before Mother’s Day. If your mother is a ferret owner or ferret enthusiast, a day at the Ferret Fun Fest could be something to put a smile on her face.
HOFA began rescuing ferrets in 1996. This event is one of the fundraisers that benefit the ferrets it assists. Its largest fundraiser, the Ferret Buckeye Bash, occurs in August every year. This year the Buckeye Bash takes place on August 23, 2014, at the Northland Performing Arts Center in Columbus.
