“We are honored to support the good work of the 2010 Oxbow Rescue Grant winners and all who assist them,” said John Miller, president and founder of Oxbow. “We know that providing advocacy on behalf of small animals is a constant challenge in terms of time and resources. This year’s grant winners are a diverse, deserving group we know will continue to benefit the welfare of small animals. We thank them, and all rescues, for their commitment to the cause.”

Luna’s House Inc. is one of the organizations to receive a grant, and its president, Lisa Randle, said the grant helps fund the establishment of two Small Mammal Adoption Rooms in its Animal Care and Education Center, which is scheduled to be in operation in mid-2011. “Oxbow's generosity will help Luna's House to provide spacious living quarters, compassionate care and, of course, the best nutrition for the small mammals — such as rabbits, guinea pigs, chinchillas, hamsters, gerbils, rats, mice, ferrets, degus, and sugar gliders — in our care. To be recognized as a grant recipient by a company we hold in such high regard is simply humbling, and we are so very grateful for Oxbow’s support.”

Information regarding the 2011 Oxbow Rescue Grant will be available at the Oxbow Animal Health website beginning January 31, 2011. Applications for the 2011 Oxbow Rescue Grant will be accepted from June 1, 2011, through August 31, 2011, for small animal rescue and rehabilitation projects throughout all of North America.
