Homeless small animal pets like rabbits, along with cats and dogs, will be at Petsmart stores for the Holiday National Adoption Event in November.

Petsmart Charities is hosting its Holiday National Adoption Event in Petsmart stores nationwide on November 13 through 15, 2009, with the goal of finding homes for 15,800 dogscats and small animals.

People looking for a new pet are encouraged to visit a Petsmart Charities Adoption Center, located in all 1,082 Petsmart stores, to adopt a pet from one of the event’s participating animal welfare groups. More than 2,000 animal welfare agencies throughout the United States are expected to participate. Select Petsmart stores will also provide space in their parking lots to showcase additional homeless pets.

“Petsmart Charities strives to raise awareness about the benefits of adopting rather than purchasing a pet,” said Susana Della Maddalena, executive director of Petsmart Charities. “With so many amazing pets being showcased during this event, we know that thousands of pets will find their forever homes.”

New adoptive parents will receive free samples from the event’s sponsors, Purina Pro Plan, Tidy Cat and Petsmart. For more information, visit the Petsmart website.

I think this is great! This provides a new home for many homeless animals. It gives them a second chance at life so they can get all the love and care they need to be happy from their new family. Thank you Petsmart!
