On September 27, 2008, the city of El Cajon in Southern California will roar with the combined engines of many motorcycles in a ride that supports legalizing ferret ownership in the state. The 1st Annual Ferret Legalization Ride, organized by OC Ferrets and San Diego Ferrets Anonymous, begins at approximately 11:30 a.m. at El Cajon Harley Davidson and ends at Kennedy Park in El Cajon. The ride follows a route that is approximately 85 miles long.

After the ride, at approximately 1 p.m., riders and non-riders will gather at Kennedy Park to enjoy a barbecue, raffle, music, games and the opportunity to meet others who support ferret legalization in California.

The entry fee is $15 per rider, $10 per passenger and $15 at the park for non-riders. Proceeds of this charity event benefit the California Domestic Ferret Educational Alliance

Riders who pre-register by September 10, 2008, receive an official ride patch for free. Registration is also available on the day of the ride beginning at 10 a.m. at El Cajon Harley Davidson. Ride requirements include M1 motorcycle endorsement, proof of insurance and waiver of liability. For information on the ride or to register, call OC Ferrets at 949-303-8481 or e-mail ferretlegalizationride@yahoo.com.

This is an absolutely outstanding idea! What a way to reach out, have fun and educate the public at the same time! The time to legalize ferrets is NOW California!
