Hedgehog Health Concerns

Although their spines make them look hardy and well-protected, hedgehogs are susceptible to a variety of illnesses and ailments.

Hedgehog Health ConcernsHedgehogs are among the oldest and most fascinating mammalian species alive on our planet today. It takes a hardy, adaptable creature to have survived in our turbulent world throughout the millennia, while other species evolved and passed into extinction. Yet, as tough as they are, hedgehogs still can suffer from health problems. All pet hedgehogs need excellent care and quality nutrition to ensure that they live long, healthy lives.

Preventing health problems is much easier, more successful and less expensive than treating health problems. So let’s take a look at some of the possible health conditions that can harm your pet, so you can recognize a problem right away and give your hedgehog immediate care when it is needed.
