Eyebrows And Mice

Let’s settle the debate about whether mice have eyebrows.

Q: Do mice have eyebrows? We are having a very heated debate at my house (a 6-year-old is involved) as to whether mice have eyebrows or not.

A: You both win! Mice don't have eyebrows in the human sense, but they do have whiskers on their brow line (which would qualify as eyebrows if you're 6 years old).

However, a human's eyebrows are designed to protect the eyes by making an arch that directs perspiration and rain away from the eyes, while a mouse's "eyebrow" whiskers are used for sensory purposes and can tell it when it's in an area that may be too small for it.
