Is there a way to stop a guinea pig from pooping in its food dish?

Has your guinea pig ever pooped in its food dish?
Q: I have a male guinea pig that is very funny, but he poops in his food dish. I got a smaller dish, but that didn’t stop him. I wired a plastic dish on an angle, but that didn't work either. What can I do to stop my guinea pig from pooping in his food dish?

A: Sometimes guinea pigs just like to “flavor” their food their own way, even in a way that’s a big “ick” to us. I have heard of this happening and have experienced it with some guinea pigs, but I have yet to find a solution for the condition. Somehow they are able to arrange their amble behind over any size bowl to do this. I am sorry I don't have an answer, but perhaps someone else out there has had some success in this area.

I know some countries raise GP's to eat. Would it be possible they want to make them selves less appealing by eating there own droppings?

i solved this by getting a gravity feeder but you have to make sure not to over feed them.
