Q: How can you tell the sex of a chinchilla? I have had mine for about a year, and I still don't know if it's a boy or girl.
A: On a male chinchilla, there is small space between the penis and the anus. On the female chinchilla, there is almost no space between the vaginal opening and the anal cavity. See pictures below.
