Scariest Critter Moment

Last Christmas I was moving a shelf over to make room for our Christmas Tree. Bailey was sitting on a chair watching. As I set the shelf against the wall, Bailey ran out from behind it and under the sofa. Somehow within seconds he had gone from on the chair to under the shelf I was moving. As I turned to go check on him, there was a trail of blood from the shelf to the sofa. I panicked - I could not get him to come out. In the end I discovered it was one of his toenails that got pulled out. I got the bleeding to quickly stop and he was fine, but the sight of that trail of blood will stay with me forever.
