Missing My Rats

It’s been three weeks since I sent my rats Dumbo and Mouse to Yorkshire while I went on vacation, and the withdrawal symptoms are starting to develop. Usually when I come down first thing in the morning, the rats clamber around on the cage bars, desperate for some attention (or food). Now only Leon the hamster is here, and he couldn’t care less about a morning greeting. I’m used to expecting the rats to listen out and want to play 24/7. It’s sort of sad how used to my rats I am.
Anyway, the real withdrawal symptoms are the dreams I keep having about them, as if I don’t miss my little ones enough when I’m awake! I am probably a little too excited about the new cage, but the rats definitely need a new place to call home, especially with Dumbo getting fatter and fatter, and Mouse growing to adult size.
I’m so excited about having my rats back. I’ve missed all their affectionate licking and the crazy antics.
I can’t remember if I already mentioned this, but Mouse has taken to sleeping in the water bowl (now empty of water and replaced by a bottle). Little weirdo ...
