Teddy's marriage paw-posal to Princess Snowflake.
I took Princess Snowflake to the vet earlier today because I thought that she might have mites. Eeeeew. Those of you who know me know how much of a worrywart I am, and so last wheekend, I noticed that the Princess was a little itchy. It seemed like her coat was a bit thinner than usual. So, off to the vet's whee went! Since I moved to the Charlotte area, my vet of choice is Dr. Chris Griffin of Griffin Exotics. If you live in the Charlotte/Concord/Kannopolis, N.C. area, then whee recommend him 110 percent! The Princess loves Dr. G and all of the staff there because they treat her sooo well.
Anyway, back to the story, the doc checked her out and she tested negative for mites, whew! But, they put her on a round of Ivermectin just as a precaution. And the reason my little girl has been losing some hair is because the climate is getting warmer. OK, better safe than sorry, right? Actually, the truth of the matter is that Princess Snowflake was quite adamant about going to the vet and getting a clean bill of health because well, I have some very exciting news. The Princess is getting married! Yes, if you have heard rumors, it is all true.
Teddy, of Mahopac, N.Y. asked for her paw in marriage on April 22, 2008 and of course, the Princess said, “Yes!” Teddy is a very handsome young fella that looks like a mix between the Teddy, Silkie and Texel breeds, if you can imagine that combination. Teddy and Princess Snowflake met on the Guinea Pig Daily Digest, which is a great place to meet other piggie fanatics and is also a wonderful source of information about our furry, little friends.
The two love pigs started out being pen pals a few months back and over time, their friendship blossomed into something very special. It didn't take long for them to fall deeply in love as they found that they have so much in common and share the same views and ideas. They were both throwaway pigs. Well, Teddy was the offspring of a throwaway pig, so that counts. The Princess was left abandoned in a trailer and Teddy's (pregnant) mommy was left abandoned in an apartment. Unbelievable.
Joanne, Teddy's human Mommy, is a very good friend of mine and, boy, were whee pleased to learn of our piggies' engagement. Whee are so proud of Teddy and Princess Snowflake because they are being so responsible and acting like adult piggies. They have discussed everything from veggies to bedding to money and even raising baby piglets. Amazingly, Teddy and the Princess have decided to adopt because there are too many homeless piggies out in the world, and they didn't want to contribute to the piggie
population crisis. Wow, I thought the Princess' only passion was food.
Their big day is set for Friday, June 6th so mark your calendars. Wheeeek!
