Hello Otter, Well I have good news and bad news bout yer sister. Ya see she probably will need to see a vet. I think you shuld try to find one that knows lots about ferrets. She may not have been spayed properly, and there could be remnants of the girl parts left. The more common thing is that it is signs of adrenal disease. The swollen female parts may let in infection, and the swollen neck could be from the infection. The lump in the neck could also be a cyst or even cancer. The first thing you will have to do is find out for sure what it is. The melatonin shots are not really expensive, and antibiotics would clear up any infection. I am not sure how much your vets charge, but to take care of me it was only $40. That was for a check-up, antibiotics, and the ferretonin shot ( time release melatonin that lasts 3-4 mo.) Some places it costs more. Did the vet say what he-she thought the lump in the neck was? Where do you live? We are in Wisconsin. It is not right for her to be so tired. I was tired until mommy got me my medicine and got rid of the infection. If she is adrenal that may be why you think she should be drug around by her neck. The boys here tried that with me, and I said I am NOT in heat! Mommy got the melatonin and they all stopped dragging me around. Please let us know if we could help. Mommy wants all ferrets to be healthy and happy. Take Care & be gentle with yur new sister ( does she have a name?) Hello Otter, Did I hear right that you might have a sister? I thought I saw a question about her. If she is spayed and she has pink swollen female parts she might have symptoms of adrenal problems. I get that myself, but mom gets me a melatonin shot that makes me better for 3-4 months each shot. I hope I am not being too nosy. I just know what it is like to not feel good.
