Hi! My name is Peppermint.

I am a New Zealand Rabbit from Buffalo.

1 year old

New Zealand White

I'm in shape. My owner doesn't overfeed me, so I don't "hang out" anywhere!

The sound of him opening a package of baby carrots.

Solving tough metaphysical questions about grass.

Splorching. It's quirky because I do it, you don't, and if you don't know what it is, I won't splorch it for you.

Donald Trump's hair.

Skunks, raccoons and nasty ol' coyotes.

Water 1/2 full or water 1/2 empty? No, the world belongs to rabbits who say, "Is this my water bottle? I don't think so! Mine had more in it! And it was a gallon jug!"

How are you doing? I've been meaning to write, really I have but you won't believe what my mama did. Again! Well, she went back to riding Prince and he decided to explode (again) and she fell off. Actually she claims she bailed herself off because he was about to bolt and she thought it was safer to fall when he was more at a stand still. Anyway, mama got another concussion, so that's 3 now in 4 months and she was talking nonsense for awhile. She's a bit better now and I told her it was high time that I got to write on here!

I have to admit I'm a bit miffed that she's stealing my spotlight. I mean after all, it's not every day that one wins Critter of the Month! Thank you so much for the enthusiastic congratulations! I was so thrilled to find out. I'm the Queen of the SAC! And it's only now that I finally get to write about it!

I guess I'm not the only one in my family that won top honours though. The fish in the pond also won Fish of the Month on the Fish Channel. They're settling into winter hibernation though so they hardly know what's what.

But wait, there's more! The videos of the month on the Horse Channel and the Dog Channel are ours too. I think you may have seen the HC one already. It's the tribute to mama's friend on there who died. The DC one was made especially for Halloween and it's called, A Tail of Horror. I would love for you to check that one out. It's easy to find. Just go to DC, click on videos, and it's the one of the month.

I want to thank you again for voting for Eddie in the Dover contest. Unfortunately, we didn't win. Ah, what can we do? At least we know we have lots of great and supportive friends like you. I think the voting must have been really really close.

How is the weather there? It snowed all day here but none of it stuck. Perhaps we'll wake up to a white morning. We'll see. In the meantime, here's a vote and enjoy the weekend!

P.S. Squirwly stew, huh? I don't like the sounds of that. Unless it's stew for squirrels!

Come visit me, Nugget & Acorn and Hazelnut (Rest in peace).

  It's COLD here
So nights are getting down to the teens here. There's enough straw in each cage to ensure warmth and nibbles, plus our insulated boxes (which make staying warm easier) are a nice touch. Add that we're to the south of the barn and are shielded from that nasty ol' North Wind, and we're pretty well set for Winter. Except for sheep-killer blizzards, which are defined as "unexpected high snow and south winds above 35 mph". They're called sheep-killers because (1) most animal shelters face south (to catch the most sun) and (2) most sheep will just stand in the shelter and freeze to death in the snow instead of exhibiting the common sense of a toenail and moving around to the other side. *smugly* That's why rabbits rule.

Come visit me, Peppermint, Candy Cane (R.I.P.) & Strawberry Shortcake.

For all those who stop by:
Grab a pile of timothy hay, sit back, sprawl out, relax, and thanks for visiting Peppermint's Pad. If you're wondering why my picture is black when I'm a New Zealand White: Per my instructions (conveyed by spazzing out and splorching around the cage --see profile for explanation), my owner decided to take some artistic license with my photo. Still, as rabbits can't wear those neat color-change contacts, I like the ghostly phosphorescent eyes, don't you? ;)

Come visit me, Peppermint, Candy Cane (R.I.P.) & Strawberry Shortcake.
