 In the trees, the garden, and wherever hidden treasure is buried.
 She feeds me and plays with me.
 Eating, playing, and climbing. Digging up other squirrels' peanuts and eating them. Yum!
 Getting mad at her humans when the food is too yummy to share! She turns her back on us and chatters threateningly.
 I first met Acorn last year. She was quite young and was lying pitifully under a tree. She was terrified and her broken front paw lay uselessly at her side. I grabbed a pair of leather gloves and as I reached for her she screamed in terror. I folded her in my hands to give her a sense of security and she immediately quieted down. I carefully placed her in a straw filled box in an outdoor aviary.
We bought special milk formula to feed her and using a syringe carefully put a few drops in her mouth. Doing this every hour or so she became accustomed to us and gradually her strength began to renew. Within 3 days she had changed from helpless and scared to completely tame and very demanding! She would grab the syringe out of our hands and try to drink it by herself and she'd chatter abuse at us if we were too slow!
Gradually we introduced a large variety of solid foods. A few weeks later she was weaned and she would be free for a couple of hours a day. Now she lives completely free in the trees but whenever she sees us she comes scampering down to demand a peanut or acorn.
Her foot healed completely and she's as happy and healthy as can be. It was love at first sight and I wouldn't have traded it for anything.
 Bad acorns, small peanuts, and slow humans.
(She gets really mad and starts chattering and slapping me if I'm too slow to take a peanut out of my pocket.!

Happy Monday!
Hope mom had a Happy Mothers Day. Our went out with her cousin Janet to a nice Buffet lunch, with lots of good food. The only problem was a bit of over eating and she suffered for it later! Everything was sooo good she said. Got to make a quick round of the channels today, because mom is also looking at the Home Depot website to do some home improvements. We need a new kitchen floor and bathroom ceiling and sink, plus both need paint. Hi Angel Acorn. Haven't been by to visit for awhile. Momma moved us into a different room. I get to run free all day but at night she cages me up so she can sleep! Sorry I didn't even know I got COTD on the 29th! Such a shock! I am truly honored--- Starfire. We will try to be a little more regular on SAC. We do miss our friends, even though we are all Angels. Good one here--- mom went out and got herself a new phone, one that can be used in Europe. Not that she can afford to make many calls, but good to have it for emergency. She is so excited. Got to make plans for for her trip and taking care of all the kitties and dogs. we critters are Angels now and she will not get another until she is back. She always says how much she misses us, but that our lives are just too short. Miss you Acorn! Starting to look like Spring, but snow still is in our backyard. Mom sees critter tracks all over and don't blame us Angels. The birdseed drops down from the feeders and the squirrels and mouse families have a feast! Mom is well. It sure has been a long time since we've visited our sweet little squirrel friend. Too long! The dogs usually give the weather report (that's fine with us!) so we can just skip to the good stuff. But sadly, tonight we bring no good news..... Mom got another gerbil, hoping that he and Fettucini could live together as pals. But after carefully following all the experts' advice, it didn't work. Linguini (the new gerbil) has a bad bite wound on his face. We're very worried about him. Mom has had Fetti for much longer, so naturally she's more attached to him. She's so glad he's okay. We hope Linguini will get better! There will be no more introductions for those two......Hope things are going better in your neck of the woods!
We are happy to report that all the bunnies are hoppy ;)
