  Merry Christmas Starlight
Hey there!!! Very Merry Christmas to you and your family.
No mom does not get on the website and look around much anymore. The other critters are so worried about votes and COTD it is not much fun anymore. She does miss hearing about our little chats though. So glad to hear from you! All is well yes yes yes. Mom had the outside patio redone with concrete, the old one was decking that had seen its better days with the weather. Now that it is cooler she lets us go outside and hop around. It is alot of fun. Poncho and I race around and jump up and do binkies alot. She has not changed anything about our care and daily routine is still pretty much the same. I'll tell mom to keep an eye out for your visits. Thanks for remembering us!

Merry binkies to you.

Sorry it has been so long Starlight.
Mom has not been blogging, so many people just ask for votes and she likes to visit and learn things about bunnies. Glad to hear from you though.

All of sneezing is gone. We also had our teeth floated back in October. Mom seemed so scared that day. I think we had to go to sleep to have it done and that was part mom didnt like. I don't remember any of it though. We just woke up and went home soon after because mom was waiting on us. She was so happy when she saw us.
Mom's mother-in-law passed away on Labor Day in September, right around the last time she bloogged.

We are getting fat. Or at least I seem to be. Not really I guess I just have a lot of neck skin. Mom likes to look at me when I am just chilling out because of the way I look it all that skin and fur:)

Poncho's big deal is shedddddddiiiiinnnnngggg!!! Ughh it drives mom crazy. She takes him out and rubs and rubs to, as she calls it de-fluff him!!

Will be watching for your messages.

Happy Thanksgiving!!!! Hope yours was a blessed day with food, family and friends. We have been with mom almost a year now and our first Thanksgiving was very.....
thankful:)

So happy to hear from you
Boy it has been busy here. I ended up having to take antibiotics for 2 weeks because I continued to have lots of sneezing after my vet visit. Mom didn't like the fuss I put up when I started sneezing so she called the vet back to see if she could give me the same medicine that Poncho got back in March for his sneezing. They said to go ahead and try it. I felt much better after about 4 days of it. I did not like the taste as much as Poncho did. mom was nice and mixed in with a small slice of banana and that made it really yummy! Now I am looking big and robust and have my full energy level back.
Mother in law is declining very fast now. Not sure how much longer she will be with us. It is very sad for everyone. Thank you so much for the thoughts and prayers.
Mom has not been to the bunny shelter this month to help out due to all our hustle and bustle recently. Hopefully others are pitching in to help. She talked to one of the ladies today that also helps out. She said the shelter is up to over 200 bunnies!!! Wow. I wish everyone knew what a joy we bunnies can be, then everyone would want to adopt.
So glad to visit with you. Have a great weekend!
Blast off binkies....

  You are an inspiration
Thank you so much for your kind words. Mom worries every day about her mother in law. With our faith we know that she will be in good hands when she passes.
Mom has been busy. Meaghan will start school soon and there has been clothes and school supplies to buy.
Poncho is in a full shed right now too. His hair gets everywhere! He hates being brushed too. It is terribly hot here right now. We ahve not been blessed with rain so Mom has to water the yard in hopes that it will stay green and pretty until the fall when we will get out to be in it. Mom had to take us to the vet. I had really red eyes and Mom was worried I had pink eye. The vet did not seem to think I did and he told mom to keep using the ointment she had put in my eyes that she had left over from her Ringo bunny. Keeping close watch, it is better but we will see if it will stay gone. I don't mind it much. Meaghan helps her each time. Both Poncho and me have molor spurs and we will have to have our teeth floated in a couple of months. Mom is very worried about the anesthesia because of what happened to her Ringo. The vet said it is not full anesthesia but a form of it so they can work on our teeth well and get them nice and even so they won't start cutting our tongue.
Starlight, thanks again for your thoughts and prayers for our family.
Bunny kisses

  Welcome back Starlight and Mom
It was so good to hear from you again. We were getting a little worried but we always wait patiently because we know your mom has lots to deal with.
Can you believe it has been 100 degrees here in Texas. Please send some of your cool weather our way. We were at the lake this weekend. Mom and family spent time out on the water in the boat. Mother in law was not well at all. We are worried. She seems to failing quickly and we know she is scared. The lung cancer makes it hard to breathe. Thank goodness she has hospice people to watch over her and her husband of course is with her always.
Dad is making plans to restucture the backyard so that it will be fun for us to go outside in the fall.
Write us soon. We miss you.

We love all things to eat!
Romaine is a favorite for us too. Just got through eating some in fact. We got our apple and carrot treat after that Yummmmmm!!!!!!!! I go all the way into the living room and hall from our den now! How exciting to have so much space and jumping room for binkies.
Mother in law is doing fine. I know each day is sad for her and it makes us sad too. Friends come and go to visit and with each one she never knows if it is last time for her to see them. We took family photos last time there and I put together a collage of photos for her. Hope you are well too.
Mom bought us some orchard grass and botanical hay. We can't wait for it to arrive. Hope we like it.
She has also been to the shelter again. The bunny she rescued has been named Lula. She did have a bad tooth and was put on antibiotics. She was happy and playful and has been able to eat much better. She was gaining weight and the fur on her belly was growing back. They are waiting to spay her because unhealthy bunnies have a harder time with anesthesia.
Mom had another discussion about bunnies going outside with another volunteer at the shelter. Sometime ago mom was wondering if it is really okay for bunnies to be in the yard......anyway she told mom that she takes her buns out. She feels like if your yard does not have anything on it like pesticides and stuff then it is great for buns to go out. Mom says when it is cooler we will go out:)
Have a great evening Star!

  Apples,Apples, Apples!!!!
We do love apples. Mother in law does like us but she doesn't spend time with us directly or feed us apples. Yes the family sees her when we go to the lake. Mom is selfish with apple time because we go crazy to get to her and she likes that.
We have not been in the 100 degree marks here in Texas but it is getting close. Swimming is a necessity at these temperatures.
Mom plans to go to the bunny shelter this weekend with Meaghan to clean. Guess she will be able to check on the rescue bunny. I bet she likes apples too!
It is wonderful that your mom is feeling better. Thank you for being a great friend. We so enjoy writing on your page and seeing how things are going.

Not quite sure about that award????? Dottie got a Wag Warz award on the dog channel too. Will have to research it a little more.
So what is new? Nothing here. Have been to the lake some. Trying to go as often as we can because Dad's mom has a terminal lung cancer and may not have too much time left. We have been sad over this for a while. It's a long story sort of.....at least it seems that way even though her original cancer that was in her leg only started last November. They live at the lake, don't think I mentioned that.
Well mom is glad to hear that Mom Michele is maybe going to do the HBO.
Will keep you in our prayers and I hope you and mom get to be together alot when she is feeling good.

  Hello Star
Hope all is well there with you and your mom. Glad it here it is warming up so you can go outside and be with mom. We can send plenty of warmth your way if you need.
Mom was sure busy last night. Early yesterday morning a friend from work called her and said there was a bunny sitting in the road not far from the hospital where she works. Oh dear what to do....... well mom went to get it of course! It was a very skinny Dutch mix female bun. She was in horrific shape. Urine scald all on her belly and wire rub sores from a cage apparently. Anyway, the family took her to the shelter in the evening so she could get vet checkups and be spayed and all the stuff they do for buns there. Mom was worried about her eating. She couldn't really seem to chew right but not sure what they found so far????? But they will handle it. We are glad she escaped the horrible place she must have lived in. She should have weighed about 6 to 8 pounds but mom bets she was no more than 4!
Mom Michele, I have not been able to ask about the HBO stuff but will try before the weekend.

  Happy Independence Day!
Hello Starlight and Mom Michele
Mom Jana is here too. Boy we have had many and a variety of conversations, looking through all our blogs on your page.
We had a great weekend end, the rain stopped and the clouds lent to shade the sun perfectly for a mildly warm holiday. There were lots of great fireworks and we weren't scared. Mom was worried that we would be freaked out but it was really okay.
Mom will ask some questions to the staff that work in the HBO center and see if she can find out risks of HBO for brain injury. Perhaps the benefit would far outway the risks. Mom Michele, we are not sure of all the reasons surrounding your injury but we do hope that you are able to recover to a point that you would like. Can certainly appreciate being financially dependent and being there for your child.
Many hugs and nose bonks....

No animals at the Watermelon Thump. The stockshow is is in January and that is where the bunnies are. Mom, her name is Jana is not a fan by the way. Those bunnies don't usually get to grow up like you and me.
You bet it is hot here. We have been getting rain because of the Hurricane Alex but when it is sunny it is almost a 100 already. Very humid, more than usual.
We have been out running around tonight. Treats are done and mom is tring to finish laundry and stuff before the July 4th holiday.
Definitely check out places that might have the HBO chambers. I know they can be costly but if Medicare will pay for it then that will be a great benefit. GOod luck and I hope you are feeling better.
Mom is going to put us away soon so I better hop along. May not be back on until after the holiday so you and your family have a great holiday. Hope you see some fanatastic fireworks!

Hi Star and mom Michele,
The Watermelon Thump is our town's annual festival. Texas has lots of those, each named for what the towns are famous for. Anyway, yes mom had fun and so did the girls.
Glad to hear there is Hyperbaric Oxygen (HBO) therapy to help you mom. Mom says to let your mom know that there are HBO chambers at the hospital where she works. It is used primarily to help heal peoples wounds on different parts of the body, but mom knows that it has lots of applications where it can be beneficial for folks. Good luck with that.
Yes we get along with all the other pets in the house (Dottie and the cats). Dottie comes in our pen to pick up stray poo poo that we sometimes kick out of our litter box when we jump out. GROSS:( !!!!!!!! Oh well like I said it keeps our pen tidy.
Mom went to help out at the bunny shelter again on Sunday. Meaghan went too and helped. She likes it alot and is good with the bunnies. There are so many that need good homes and it is nice to be able to provide some interaction and socialization with them even if it for a little while.
Have a great night and talk to you soon.

  How is everything Starlight?
Mom was not home for a little while last night. There is this thing called the Luling Watermelon Thump that apparently is all the craze for humans. Mom says not her so much but Meaghan likes to go and ride carnival rides with her friends and stuff. Needless to say we did not get to be out of our pen much yesterday evening. Mom let us out when she got home for awhile and we ate our treats.
Dottie is in our pen with us right now. She thinks a stray poo pellet here and there are great treats!!!!! so she is checking everything out for us and keeping our pen spotless:)
Your mom will be seeing her doctor tomorrow I hope to get some answers. Tell her, mom and us wish her the very best.
Oh............ mom says to let you know that Scooter's video won Editor's Choice for June on SAC!!!!!She won channel points. Too bad the points were not real dollars but oh well it was neat to have them pick her video.
Well I am munching out on some hay right now and I hate to talk with my mouth full:) so I will binky bounce atcha later......

  Hi Starlight
Mom visited the bunny shelter again today to help them clean cages. She was gone for a little while but she is back now. She said they got in 6 new black bunnies like you except one has white feet. They are all siblings but they don't like being with each other.
Hope its a good day for your Mom. Mom and us worry about her. Poncho's on a tear around the house right now. He won't go long though because he is very furry and gets hot. I am watching him from the safty of the den.
Wow it is really hot here in texas. We will not be going to the lake until around the 4th of July. Mom doesn't even let us out on the patio in the mornings because it is just too hot.
So what have you been up to? Cuddling with mom to make her feel better I am sure. Had any special treats lately?
Thanks for being our friend. A bunny named Razzy has been visiting and asking mom questions about litterbox training. He is not fixed and apparently sprays. He may have to get that fixed first!!

You tell your mom to hang in there. We know the medication will eventually get right. Treasure your time with her out of your pen so she may feel better. We are glad to have you as our friend and to be able to chat with you and your mom.
We had a good time at the lake. Many people know about our family bringing us with them so they like to look at us and feel how soft we are. They are amazed that we are litter box trained. Poncho gets picked to show off mostly because he is not quite as skiddish as me but dad always insists not to leave me out so he will pick me up too. Everyone always asks lots of questions about having a bun in the house!
We are having a good time today. Mom forgot to close our pen when she left for work so it was open all day. Meaghan was at home so we couldn't get into too much trouble.
Mom bought us some Oxbow organic barley treats and they are great! We were on our way back from the lake and we stopped at the bunny shelter where mom got us. She had to get a few things from their bunny shop and she picked up the treats too. Mom of course had to look around and she which buns were new to the shelter and which were still there. She left a donation because they are low on funds right now. We are glad she can help out the other bunnies that have to stay there. I think she and Meaghan plan on going and help clean pens which the shelter people do on Sundays.
Well Starlight I am off to play and eat. Will be waiting to hear from you.

Hi there. We were gone to the lake again but we are back today. How is everything for your mom? Hopefully the medication changes are going well. It can be tricky when adjusting meds. Just be there for your mom and we know that she will overcome this change.
We are hoping that snake is gone off the site. We are all for people having a voice but that was not humerous if that was the intent. Haven't seen its profile again. The link to the page was not working the day it was the COTD so maybe they kicked it off. I know you can send the webmaster emails but I have not tried it.
Anyway we are glad to be back home and it was good to hear from you. Mom has not bought us any of the flower or flower hay mixtures yet but maybe she will soon. Seeing all the adoptable bunnies is neat on the website too but it makes mom want more bunnies.

The lake was great. The whole family went. Mom and dad spent time out on the pontoon boat and the girls stayed around the lake and rode jet skies and spent time with friends.
Hope your hay eating is still going good. Hey by the way did you see the COTD today (Wednesday)? It was a phython or something named Idk. Not sure if it was a joke or not but I did not find it funny at all! What are they thinking????? I saw it on the photo gallery and thought it was creepy and then today it is the COTD!

  Hi Starlight
How have you been? We went to the lake this weekend and had a good time. Hope your family is doing well and had a good weekend too. We are interested in the dried flowers. Please ask your mom to tell our mom if she has more information on what types to give us. Mom has read up on feeding flowers but she really can't find a place to get them. Is there a good website. She will try to grow dandelions when it gets cooler. It was already too hot here to start them.
Mom's trip to Louisianna was a busniness/work trip, no familt members just people she has met through work.

Strawberries? Yes we like those too!
Hi there. We were beginning to get worried about your mom again, but by the sounds of your litter box antics it seems like she is doing well. Mom has been gone to Louisianna for a couple of days for work. We were so excited when she got home today. Meaghan did our feeding and stuff while she was gone.
About the litter box. Your mom can just wire it to your cage if needed. We like to push and throw around our bowl as well as get behind the litter boxes sometimes. Ask your mom to get you a straw mat for your cage and then you wont need the bedding. We have one over half of our pen. They are great for stratching/digging and nibbling on. Mom said she will look for the litter box inserts to help your mom find them. We have a hidey box that dad made us. We nest in it every afternoon for our naps. That is where I go hide when I smell things cooking in the kitchen too.
Yummmmmmm strawberries are great aren't they!!!!!! Do you get any died pineapple or papaya? Drs. Foster and Smith is a good web site for bunny supplies.
Glad to hear from you today. Have a great evening.

  Glad you are back
So good to hear from you again. Sorry to hear your mom has not been feeling well. I hope the new medicines are better for her. We saw the channel information about the bunny picnic. Some of the adoption shelters have those here in Texas too. It is great exposure for educating people about buns.
Mom made a video tonight of us having our apple frenzy feast. She will upload it next week. AHHHHH apples they sure were tasty. Poncho is chilling now and I am eating hay.
I understand your mom is contemplating getting you a litter box. We highly recommend it. They are great for containing the hay and you can go potty in it too so your cage will stay clean. Mom says to let your mom know there are litter box inserts that will keep the waste on the bottom where you can get in a stretch out in the hay in your box. that is how we had it in the shelter before mom picked us. She thought she remembered seeing them on the web somewhere or even the house rabbit resource but she looked and can't find it right now. They sell them at our shelter but anyway......
I hope you have a good night and tell your mom we are thinking about her and hope she is feeling better soon.

Hope your day was a good one
Hi Star. Yes bunnies can be very quirky. I do another really funny thing sometimes. If I am really excited about what I am eating I will make a honking or kind of humming sound. You have to listening closely but you can hear it. No we are not pick me up bunnies. If there is food Poncho doesn't care and in general he is better with the picking up than than I am. We do both like to be petted. So not to be left out we usually both lay with our foreheads touching so mom can rub across both of us together. We hop all around on laps and stuff sometimes too but we are not much for being held. Meaghan is very good at cradling us into a relaxed position. Did you know that it has been said that some minor surgeries could be performed on rabbits that are really relaxed (almost hypnotized)? Weird, huh??? I doubt there would be any vets to try that today but it is an interesting piece of trivia. The ladies at the shelter were always really good at handling the buns. Mom is more nervous about it I think because she worries about dropping us if we kick or something.
Glad you enjoyed the videos. Mom is always looking for opportunities to take pictures or most recently videos. Hopefully mom will bring our apples slices in soon. Last night Poncho had to go in the kitchen where mom was and periscope up on his back legs to see if there were any apples available. It was later in the evening and we think mom forgot but as soon as he did that she fixed them up and brought them to us.
You have a good night Starlight. Relax and have fun!!!!!!!!!!!!

How are you today? Mom says hi to everyone too. We are munching our greens right now. Thunderstorms came through just a little bit ago but the sun is out now. Hey so I don't forget to tell you, let your mom know Scooter has a video posted. He is spinning in (and spinning out of) his wheel. Funny stuff for humans!!! He seems to enjoy it though.
Dad is not in the military, he used to be but not anymore. He is a patrol sergeant for the sheriff's office where we live. Enjoyed hearing about your family too. We don't live on a farm, actually we live in town. Mom said to tell you Meaghan's pig was out at a friend of moms whose daughter was also raising a pig for the show. They raised them together (the pigs happened to be litter mates) and shared the work. That was last year and Meaghan's "Baby"(that was her name) was the Grand Champion pig. She was so excited because it was her first year in 4-H. This year her pig "Spinner" placed only fourth. She was disappointed but you can't win them all. They were girl pigs so they go back to the breeder to have more babies after the show. Next year she may show a steer but that will have to be raised at her grandparents house. They do have a farm.
It must have been great to be outside this weekend. Mom has read all the rabbits books available too and she also thought taking buns outside was a good thing. She is not sure why the shelter people are so concerned. Ringo's vet said eating grass outside was good because of the silts that collect on the grass are what help to keep rabbits teeth worn down, which is why the hay is so important too. Mom thinks the shelter people worry about buns not being supervised while outside and rabbits getting hurt or getting out the yard etc. Anyway glad you spent some time outdoors, the more you do it the better you will feel about it. Well I hope you have a great night and I hope you hop by soon.

We are glad we have your furiendship!!!!
We do always seem to have lots to talk about. We asked mom about all your questions.
About bunnies it is like this: Ringo was rescued off the street. In January of 2009 mom found him on their way back from feeding Meaghan's show pig. Mom didn't think they would keep him but dad really wanted to if they could. Well he stayed, was neutered and was loved as much as he loved them. He gave lots and lots of kisses.
On outside: No we haven't been out in the yard. Mom lets us out on the enclosed patio so we can feel the breeze and hear the birds but we always come back in. The shelter people don't recommend letting bunnies out on the ground (grass and dirt is what they mean)because bunnies can pick up a bad stomach virus/bacteria??? thingy. Ringo went out alot with mom but we haven't been. Mom is going to ask the vet when we go to have our teeth checked later this year. The weather will be cooler in Texas then so we don't have to worry about getting too hot.
Lets see grooming is next and yes please destroy all tools used for it. We are not so used to these things either. In shelters one on one time is limited with humans so there are things that still freak us out too. Mostly me. Mom says to let you know that Poncho can be a real grouch. If he does not want attention he is quick to let out a low growl and box your hand. Mom and everyone think it is kind of funny but he really is mad. Luckily he gets over it quickly. I don't have any of those kinds of temper issues but there are sounds and stuff that still bother me.
So about the family: mom is a nurse and dad is a patrol sergeant. They have two daughters.
How about your family? Oh you are right about people not understanding how much you can love a bunny until you have one. Mom has educated all her coworkers about bunnies. She has pictures all around and stuff too so everyone can see us. She says they call her the crazy rabbit lady!
Thank you so much for always keeping in touch. We have tried with other bunnies but some of them just seem to be out for votes or once they blogg once or twice they never hop back by.
Happy dances to you and your family.
Have a good night.
Your bunny buddy,
Porsha

  Starlight that is great news!!
It is so good to hear that your teeth are in excellent shape. Now just concentrate on increasing your hay consumption. Sounds like your vet is great too! Austin is not too far from us, only about 40 minutes. It is well worth it to get to see someone who is knowledgeable about rabbits. About the litter boxes, yes they do take up space but they are very helpful keeping the hay contained. Mom keeps pelletted litter in the bottom and sprinkles hay on top because I don't really like the way the pellets move around at first when they are fresh. It frustrated mom because she couldn't figure out why I kept pulling the hay out of the box to eat it and then making messes outside the box. But she figured it out so now I strictly use the litter box. Mom cleans our litter boxes on Sundays. There are smaller litter trays that your mom can get that will fit better in cages. Our shelter cage was only about 2 by 3 feet and we had one in it so it can be done.
Being outside sounds great. It is already too hot here in Texas to be outside during the day, even in the shade. Mom says buns can only tolerate up to about 80 degrees. A good trick for cooling buns in hot weather is to freeze old milk jugs or coke bottles etc. and then put them in the cage so your bunny can get next to it to stay cool. Breeze and shade are important too of course. Don't be afraid of the dog it can't hurt you in the cage and I am sure you will get used to it. Mom thought we would be afraid of Dottie too but getting to know her was a breeze.
Starlight you have a good night, we are going to run around for a while.
It's all about the timothy hay.............

  Good evening Star
Thankfully nail clipping is only about every 3 months. I asked mom about the book. She cannot remember reading it but she does like to read so maybe she will look into it. She has definitely heard of it. Don't worry about your trip to the vet. By the way mom asks if it is a vet who treats rabbits? She only wonders because she doesn't want to have you go and not get any answers. Rabbits are a specialty and not all vets know how to treat problems properly and they aren't all equipped to look in a bunny mouth. We go to Austin, Texas to see ours because the one here likes bunnies but dosen't have as much experience with them. Just checking.......
Mom is quite pleased with the Oxbow products as well. Will check out the boutique, she thought she has visited that site before. Thanks for the tip.
Glad you liked the videos. We really do love each other. We were a pair when we were taken to the shelter and we had been there since early 2009. Not all the bunnies have partners at the shelter. Did you know that a bunny will choose the mate they want which may not be the one the owner is choosing? Pretty neat!!! Hope you have a great evening. Until next time, bunny hugs and binkies....

Porsha

Good to hear from you Starlight
Glad everything is at least a little better with your hay eating. We like the Oxbow timothy hay too, that is what mom buys. Our pellets are Oxbow as well, the Bunny Basics-T. I am in my hidey house right now. Dad was cooking meat in the kitchen and I have some kind of dislike for the smells that it creates. I was having a nice snack of greens and romaine so hopefully Poncho won't hog it all!!!! Okay I will come out now. For sure pellets all day is bad. Mom says just have the hay in the cage or however you like it available all the time. We eat what falls in our litter box too so if you don't like the hay rack that is fine. Yes it nice having a big pen but we are not really picky because we were in a small cage at the shelter. What is most important is that you have a mom who loves you and we can tell you are a happy bunny. I am more a scaredy-cat than Poncho so I understand. Be patient you will get used to all the sounds and routine of things. No we did not get to go to the lake but maybe this weekend. Mom clipped our nails, we hate it of course but she was gentle and didn't cut any nails too short. Hope you had a good weekend. Who watches you when your mom is gone?
Mom says to tell your mom Happy Mothers Day too. have a good night.

Porsha

  Hi Star
I relayed your message to my mom. She is very aware of this dilemma as Ringo was not a good hay eater either. First she may really want to consider going and having your teeth looked at by a vet. You are 3 now and have had plenty of time to develop spurs on your teeth which can make your mouth uncomfortable when you have to chew the hay. Pellets don't present as much of a problem so that is why rabbits eat those and not the hay.
Mom keeps our hay in a rack just above the litter box. That way we get in the litter box to eat hay and do our business at the same time so we can be out of the pen and mom doesn't have to worry about us making messes. I am a vigorous hay eater and pull it and tug it out of the rack but that is okay because you can still eat it from the litter box. If you would like mom to post a picture of our set up let me know and she can do it. Our pen is 6 feet by 6 feet so it works well, for smaller cages or pens you may have to make adjustments. Greens like the collard greens and beet tops are fibrous and tougher to chew which help teeth wear also. If you are a small bun 1/8 cup timothy pellets is all you should have in one day. That is how much Ringo ate, he was 4 pounds. We get 1/4 cup each but Poncho and I are a little bigger. We get our pellets in the morning and then greens in the evening and eat all the hay we want in between. Mom says try the lesser pellets for just a day and see what happens, gut stasis will not happen that quickly and if you are not eating she can feed you what you like in the evening. Starlight it is very important that you eat your hay. Mom had to really work to get Ringo to eat his hay. When his mouth started to feel better he had begun to eat much more. Mom wants to know what kind of hay your mom buys for you because that could also be why you do not eat enough.
Okay hope this helps, Poncho and I will be thinking about you. Let us know how it goes and have a good evening.
Your furiend,
Porsha

  Hello
Wow your mom does stay up late. Not us. Mom makes us go to bed early but we don't really sleep. We go nest in the afternoon. Poncho sleeps very peaceful as you can see in his pictures. Glad you were able to see our videos. Our dog Dottie has a good one on dogchannel.com. It is called Dottie rock fishing #1.
Our videos were not at the lake but at our home. Our pen is in the den so mom trys to catch us doing funny stuff in the evenings.
Yes Meaghan is moms daughter, so we call her our sister. Tell your mom not to stay up too late.....
Have a good night!

  Hey Star
We look forward to getting your mail also. The place at the the lake is rental property but it's mom and dad's exclusively. We stay indoors just like at home but it is a nice change. I guess having to go in the car can make buns a little nervous but you soon get used to it. Same with the trips to the vet. Oh mom wanted your mom to know that she can periodly check for any facial swellings which can indicate tooth problems by simply feeling under your eyes and around your jaw line. Sounds weird but that is how she dicovered Ringo's problem.
Mom is a nurse, so some of this stuff just comes naturally.
Mom has only had us since Dec of 2009 so we have not gone outside yet. The people at the shelter say that they don't like for bunnies to be outside on the ground because bunnies can pick up bacteria from birds in the dirt and bunnies get some kind of stomach illness from it. Does your mom know anything about this? Mom had the backyard all set up for Ringo and he went out often with supervision but she is not sure about taking us out now cause she is nervous about us getting sick. I see bunnies outside in pictures all the time so mom will have the research it further.
We have a video uploaded that mom took one night. It is called Poncho and Porsha Playtime if you click on the browse video links. There is another one of just Poncho playing but it is not posted yet but hopefully it will be there soon.
Thanks for hopping by... Till next time....

  We're back
Hi Starlight. Missed getting to talk to you. We had a great time though, we like it at the lake. Yes mom has learned alot about having buns too. Ringo died when he was under anesthesia having his mouth worked on to help heal his tooth abscess, so mom knows lots about buns and teeth. We have already been to vet to have our teeth checked once. It is important to go about every six months. Poncho had a staph infection in his nose too. He was sneezing and sneezing and sure enough the vet did a culture and found the bacteria. He was on antibiotics for several weeks and it went away perfectly. As for toys, if the cat toy works then go with it. We have a cat toy too that is fun to throw around. I pick it up and toss it, Poncho just kind of pushes it. I think it is because he has a fat face!!! Haha.
Yes the timothy pellets are what we have to eat too!! We love ours in fact we clean them up first thing in the morning. We eat lots of timothy hay also. The apples we get are just treats and we always get a green in the evening as well. Romaine, carrot tops, beet tops and collard greens(the tougher greens make us chew to wear our teeth better)...... The parsley and cilantro are good too. Mom is trying to grow us some dandelion greens as well but they are not coming up. She thinks it is already too hot in Texas. May have to try in the fall.
Tell your mom thanks for writing on Ringos page, it was very touching.
Good night and have a great day tomorrow. Left you a vote.

Porsha.

  Hi Samantha
We will tell mom to complete our pages and see if that will help. Somewhere she read it was the number of votes between certain days of the week but anyway we'll see...
Having a companion is great! Poncho and I were already bonded when mom picked us out at the shelter. Maybe you will be able to have one someday. We are glad the HRRN is able to take in buns to wait for new homes. There were so many of us there. Dad was working the day mom came and he was worried she would come home with more than 2! Mom and dad have there own home. We live here with two cats, Squeeks and Cricket and our blue heeler Dottie (she is the one in the pic with Ringo). We all get along great. They have thought about trying to adopt another pair but they have alot going on right now so they will wait.
Ringo was around 2 years old when he died. Mom still cries sometimes when she thinks about him. It is because of him that mom found the shelter. She had attempted to see if he would bond with a mate but that was not his thing. His best friend was Dottie and mom. At night he would even hop back to the bedroom with them and sleep cuddled with Dottie or by mom. We know this is why she still cries sometimes, from missing him so much. However because of her love for him we were brought together and we are so happy for that each and every day.
It was really great talking ot you, no one else has been that curious. Mom has quite a bit of knowledge having cared for Ringo when he was sick so if your mom needs help with anything let her know and she may have a tip or two! Talk to you soon.
Your furiend, Porsha.
