Rex passed away
Yesterday, Rex had to be put down. he, unknowingly, had a case of mycoplasmosis that finally brought him to the point of no return. He went to the vet who confirmed that prolonging his life was only causing him more pain. I was allowed to hild him from the time he got the injection to the time when his heart stopped. He knew how much he was loved; and I promised him that I would meet him at the rainbow bridge. I will miss him all my days.Come visit me, Madeline Usher Jr. (RIP 11/22/09) & Rex (RIP 6/12/09).

What I've been up to
Not a lot has happened in the cage for a while. We gat a new waterbottle. It makes less noise so Mommy Sara doesn't hear it at night and can get some sleep. Last week, Mommy forgot to close the cage door before she went to bed and Madeline and I got to run around all night. We were good rats anyway, I hope this means we'll get more long term play time. Guess what? Poor Winky may be getting ready to go to the bridge soon. Mommy says he is dry feeling and breathing hard. He will be 2 in a week or so. Mommy blames the pet shop for poor breeding and knowledge. Maybe we will find him a hoodie for him to sleep in at the bridge. Thanks for the site info. they had a lot of cute things on there. no hoodie though. but thats okay he stresses so much i am sure i prob wont be able to get it on him. lol! So Rex tell me, did you have all your fur at one time and just slowly lost it? My mommy's friend just got her first rat, she is a little girl with curly fur. She is now losing her fur in spots. lol mommy's friend don't like Winky, so she may end up having a part hairless rat. too funny!
